Greetings from Camp Capitalism
The annual Liberty Summer Seminar is where individual freedom meets collective fun
Ezra Levant - August 28, 2006
Peter Jaworski's annual Liberty Summer Seminar in Orono, Ont., just keeps getting better. And I'm not just talking about the food, for which it is worth trekking an hour east of Toronto in its own right. The list of liberty-oriented speakers is top-notch, this year including our friends Danielle Smith of the Alberta Property Rights Initiative, John Carpay of the Canadian Constitution Foundation and the great Mike Walker of the Fraser Institute. It wasn't all heavy-duty, though; besides swimming and kayaking and lunching, the rock band Lindy performed under the moonlight. Here are some pictures.
Photos ran in magazine: Colour Photo: Mike Walker of the Fraser Institute explains how property rights can ease Third World housing problems; Colour Photo: Happy campers show off their capitalist T-shirts; Colour Photo: WS publisher Ezra Levant talks about the WS decision to print the Danish Mohammed cartoons and freedom of the press; Colour Photo: Rock band Lindy performed on Saturday night; Colour Photo: The Jaworski swimmin' hole
