Stephane Dion isn’t good enough for the Liberals. Why does he think he’s right for Canada?
Stephane Dion isn’t good enough for the Liberals. Why does he think he’s right for Canada?
Seventy-four percent of Canadians chose someone other than Stephane Dion to lead our country. Not since Confederation has a Liberal leader been so unpopular.
Even his own party wants him gone. In October, Dion was forced to announce his resignation as Liberal party leader effective May 2009.
The CBC has reported that there is a "consensus building that [the Liberal Party] cannot go forward with Mr. Dion as leader."
A recent EKOS poll found 60 per cent of Canadians think Dion should resign as Liberal leader.
If Dion isn't right for 74 percent of Canadians, or for the 77 Liberal MPs in Parliament, and if 60 per cent of Canadians think he should resign, why does he think he's the right choice for Prime Minister?
Canadians deserve better than Liberal castoffs. Especially Liberal castoffs whose support is shrinking every day. In several recent polls, support for Stephane Dion continues to plummet. The most recent Compass puts Stephane Dion and the Liberal Party at 20 per cent support nationally. IPSOS puts them at 23 per cent. Ekos? 24 per cent.
In Canada, the right to govern is earned, not taken. Stephane Dion, you're not my Prime Minister.
